National Heritage Media Art is a cultural heritage festival held annually in various regions across the country featuring Korea's national heritage as its subject. Organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration and managed by the Cultural Heritage Promotion Institute, this festival has entered its sixth year since its inception in 2021. This year, the festival plans to beautifully showcase the national heritage of 12 regions through diverse programs utilizing the latest ICT technology. In 2026, the festival will unfold media art that reexamines the history and maximizes the value of each cultural heritage against the backdrop of Ganghwa's 'Goryeo Palace Ruins' and Cheolwon's 'Labor Party Building' in the Gyeonggi/Gangwon region; Gyeongju's 'Daereungwon Tomb Complex', Yangsan's 'Tongdosa Temple', Jinju's 'Jinju Fortress', and Tongyeong's 'Samdo Naval Command Center' in the Gyeongsang region; Gunsan's 'Old Gunsan Customs Headquarters Building', Yeosu's 'Jinnangwan Hall', and Iksan's 'Mireuksaji Temple Site' in the Jeolla region; and Buyeo's 'Jeongrimsaji Temple Site', Asan's 'Yi Sun-sin's Residence', and Cheongju's 'Yongdusa Temple Site Iron Pagoda' in the Chungcheong region. Through this festival, you can experience moments where the heritage of the past shines brightly, connecting with the present lives of visitors.
