Munjong, the King Who Lost All Three Wives

A primary source on Danjong's accession after Munjong's death and the ensuing coup.

Munjong loved learning and excelled in astronomy, arithmetic, and calligraphy, and was also deeply interested in science, including improvements to the rain gauge.

The current Geunjeongjeon Hall of Gyeongbokgung was rebuilt in 1867 (the 4th year of King Gojong) and differs from the building of Munjong's era (15th century). However, it stands on the site where it was first built in 1395 (the 4th year of King Taejo).
